Various interpretations are proposed regarding the occultation of the Imam of the Age (Imam Mahdi) and the nature of his reappearance. According to the "chosen view" (Qawl-e-Mukhtar), the Occultation arises from humanity's collective choice to set aside religion and, consequently, to distance its primary expert from the leadership of human life. Naturally, following this process, the reappearance of the Hidden Imam will be realized only when this collective choice changes. The Islamic Revolution of Iran was a significant step in this direction and toward shifting humanity's general choice. Although the "new discourse" of the Islamic Revolution holds great appeal among contemporary human schools of thought, it has unfortunately not been addressed as it deserves; specifically, its novelty—which is one of its primary attractions—has been overlooked. This new perspective, which seeks the "engineering of the world" through divine religion, possesses both affirmative and negative aspects. Its affirmative aspect involves advancing the five stages of the Islamic Revolution, while its negative aspect entails resistance against factors that hinder the progress of this process.
In recent years, this discourse and intellectual framework have shaped the Resistance in the Southwest Asia region—a resistance that operates based on Quranic principles. Understanding this point reveals the secret behind the victories of this front. Utilizing a library-based analytical method and providing a concise re-explanation of the perspective on the occultation of the Imam of the Age, the present article elucidates the "new discourse" of the Islamic Revolution and its dimensions, applying it to specific instances of resistance in the region.
