The Islamic Revolution of Iran, as a turning point in the history of Shi'ism, has created a fundamental transformation in the concept of "the waiting" (for Imam Mahdi’s reappearance), shifting it from a passive and individualistic state to an active, social, and government-building paradigm. Using a descriptive-analytical method and drawing upon the statements of Imam Khomeini (RA) and the Supreme Leader of Iran, this article elucidates the model of "Mahdavi Governance" as a comprehensive strategy to overcome the fourfold challenges of the Age of Occultation and to pave the way for the Reappearance. Given the pivotal role of the Islamic Revolution in redefining the concept of "waiting" and the absence of a comprehensive model of "Mahdavi Governance" during the Occultation, explaining its theoretical and practical framework is an essential necessity for laying the foundations of Islamic civilization and realizing "Active waiting." The findings indicate that Mahdavi Governance is a gradual and systematic process based on the stages of the "Islamic System," "Islamic Government," "Islamic Country," and "Islamic Civilization," the ultimate goal of which is to create an exemplary, righteous, and prepared society as an objective and small-scale preview of the global government of Imam Mahdi (AS). In this critical path, "Preparedness" across seven key axes—ideological, ethical, political-governmental, economic, military, cultural, and psycho-spiritual—is an undeniable necessity. Its realization is defined as a simultaneous and shared duty for both rulers and the people within the discourse of "Active Expectation." Finally, the article concludes that the Islamic Republic of Iran, as the only practical laboratory of religious governance in the Age of Occultation, possesses an unparalleled capacity to fulfill this historical role.
